Additional Information

The theory of Nursing As Caring asserts that caring is the fundamental human attribute and the essence of nursing. The ultimate goal of nursing is to nurture persons living caring and growing in caring. The theory emphasizes the relational, intentional, and moment-to-moment nature of nursing. All nursing happens within the nursing situation, which is the dynamic, shared lived experience between the nurse and the nursed. It's the unique context where "caring between" occurs and personhood is enhanced for both individuals.
